PLEASE NOTE: A new website is currently in progress to replace this very modest design. (29 September 2009)
Ever since I can remember I've wanted to draw pictures
and make art. My earliest works consisted mostly of red crayon on my father's
LPs. Over time I graduated to paper and have since dabbled in painting, video,
web interactivity, and ceramics.
At age 9 I started playing the trumpet in the school band and played it for eight more years all through high school. It never really did much for me as I wanted to play drums from the start. At 15 I took up the guitar and it has been one of my most worthwhile personal endeavors.
Upon graduating from Somonauk Jr./Sr. High School in 1999 I went on to Northern Illinois University to study Computer Science. During my sophomore year at NIU I dropped the computer science all together and became an art major studying time arts. Time arts involves any kind of art that takes place on a time line, such as a video, animation, performance, or interactive installation. At every opportunity I found an excuse to incorporate music into my assignments.
Since graduating from NIU in 2004 with a BFA in Time Arts I have found work as a painter, real estate agent, order picker, and shipping and receiving clerk. I use all my time outside of work to make more art, practice old songs and write new ones, and write reviews, newsletters, and blogs about anything that holds my interest.
The name Three Chord Me comes from the Weezer song "Falling For You" from their 1996 album Pinkerton. In the song the phrase refers to a musician who only knows three chords, but I've chosen it for my website name to refer to my three facets of creation: artwork, music, and the written word. This site serves as starting point to showcase past works and insight into future projects.
